Products To Avoid

There are products known to thin the blood, slowing the clotting process.  Other products are potentially harmful because of MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitory effects.  Some have the effect of lowering serum potassium levels, which can cause abnormal heart rhythms.  Some products impact the liver when general anesthesia is used.  Therefore, starting two weeks before surgery and ending two weeks after, surgery, please do not use the following:

PRODUCTS CONTAINING ASPIRIN
Alka-Seltzer, Anacin, Ascriptin, Bufferin, Contac, Darvon, Ecotrin, Empirin, Excedrin, Fiorinal, Midol, Norgesic, Percodan, Triaminic Vanquish

NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PRODUCTS
Advil, Aleve, Anaprox, Cataflam, Clinorial, Daypro, Dolobid, Duract, Ecotrin, Feldene, Ibuprofen, Indocin, Lodine, Medipren, Motrin, Nalfon, Naprelan, Naproxen, Naprosyn, Nuprin, Orudis, Oruvail, Ponstel, Relafen, Tolectin, Toradol, Voltaren

Aloe (ingested), Bilberry, Cayenne, Echinacea, Garlic, Ginger, Gingko, PC-SPES, Protein powders containing Vitamin E, Red wine, St John's wort, Vitamin E (Vitamin E is ok in a multiple vitamin, but please do not take extra), Yohimbe

There may be other products that you may need to avoid.  Please contact the office before taking any medications two weeks prior and two weeks after surgery.

Acetaminophen (like Tylenol) is acceptable for headache and pain relief.

Arnica montana (homeopathic medicine) is acceptable for postoperative bruising and swelling.  If Arnica is used, please start after surgery as it thins the blood. Melatonin (hormone) 3mg is acceptable to use as a sleep aide after surgery. Take at bedtime.

DAY OF PROCEDURE
Eat a light breakfast and/or lunch on the day of your procedure; avoid caffeinated products such as coffee, tea, or energy drinks.  It is recommended that patients wear or bring loose and comfortable clothing the day of procedure.

Impact Of Society On Our Bodies

Modern society places a lot of emphasis on shapely bodies through magazines, television,
and social media.  Making those bodies closer to what society perceives as normal can occasionally cause social miracles.  For many people, the inability to have an attractive, youthful shape creates great stress, particularly for those who have tried to improve their figure through diet and exercise.  Liposuction is the most common cosmetic procedure for both men and women to reshape problem areas of the body.

At Pacific Lipo, we understand that genetically, most people cannot reshape their problem areas where fat accumulates without help.  Now there's an affordable, better, safer, and quicker procedure to bring you the confidence you deserve.

After having my procedure done, friends and family were envious to say the least.  My coworker went to Pacific Lipo to have the procedure done a couple weeks ago.  She did the same thing as me, upper and lower abdomen and love handles.  She will NOT stop talking about it.  She's a 39 year old mother of 2 who flashes her new belly to everyone, I have never seen her this happy.  She's like a whole new woman.  Rod is an artist, he's awesome at what he does and truly cares about his patients.  If you're considering lipo then this is the place to go.

FAQs - How Long Do The Results Last?

The fat cells are permanently removed by liposculpture, so you will not regain weight in that area.  It is important to note, however, that liposuction does not guarantee that you won't gain weight or accumulate fat deposits in other areas of your body.

Patients will have a variation in liposuction results.  There are many different reasons why someone may end up with less than perfect results from a lipo procedure. He or she may have looser skin or pre-existing stretch marks which is a sign that the desired amount of post-liposuction skin tightening may not be possible. Some people may have had prior surgeries with large amounts of scarring which could significantly limit the potential for smoothness after a lipo procedure. Some patients may not have followed important aftercare instructions or follow-up regularly with office visits/phone calls as instructed. Some patients do not continue to exercise or diet afterwards to ensure optimal results. As with any procedure in any office, results may vary.

View Pacific Lipo's Before and After Gallery to get a better idea of how results do vary for patients with different body types, prior surgical scars, varying degrees of skin laxity, etc. Although results may vary, one can still appreciate the significant improvement that may be achieved when the procedure is performed by an experienced liposuction specialist. That being said, patients must keep in mind that not everyone will be completely thrilled with their results, but that does not necessarily mean that the technique used by the liposuctionist was poor. Sometimes our bodies don’t heal as nicely as we would all hope. The goal of any lipo procedure is to help every patient look much better but unfortunately not every patient will feel better despite all reasonable efforts.

…my body is totally transformed! I was always very active and had good muscle tone. (But covered by layers of fat). Now I have a very sexy hour glass shape and can finally see the definition in my arms! - Katie H. from San Diego, CA

FAQs - What Can I Expect After Surgery?

Following your procedure, we will explain your healing process and how to achieve max results.  Since liposculpture is minimally invasive and performed under a local anesthetic, you will be perfectly fine to safely drive yourself home after the procedure.

For a day or two, you can expect to feel tired, as though your body has been through a workout - and it has!  The areas treated will be stiff and sore, and you may experience some discomfort, burning, swelling, bruising or temporary numbness.  The tumescent solution often provides many hours of pain free comfort, and you will be provided with medication to relieve any residual discomfort following your procedure.
You will be wearing a compression garment around the areas treated.  This decreases swelling, helps mold the new shape, and provides support and comfort.  Garments must be worn following the procedure for comfort and to improve results. Duration of garment wear varies on an individual basis and will be determined by our Director of Surgery, Rod Davis PA-C.

Follow up appointments are free and encouraged.  Our team at Pacific Lipo would like to see you during your recovery process and make sure you are getting the best results possible.  Patients usually return 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after their procedure.  If you are coming from out of town, that is not a problem!  Most follow up appointments can be done virtually through email with photos and phone calls.
I just had my 6 month follow up and am still very amazed at my results.  The staff was amazing as usual!  I am so happy that I had another smaller area done.  I was in and out in no time and am already so impressed with the results.  A huge thank you to everyone at Pacific Lipo for bringing back my confidence!   -Lynette M. from San Diego, CA
